I was poking around in my basement yesterday morning trying to find something to do, and honestly, that’s the best thing to happen to me in a few weeks. I found my old bat and glove from when I played softball. My dad and I ended up taking Lumi up to the field behind Wild Horse and I got in some batting time for the first time in probably 5 years. The bat’s a good few inches too short for me now and I need to get some new grip tape on the handle, but that doesn’t really matter now. It was just nice to get out and get moving. We went up again today with my mom. I’m feeling pretty good about my skills. I can still knock ’em pretty deep. Lumi’s starting to figure out how it works, too. She’ll need a little more time with it, but she kind of gets the idea of bringing the balls back to the pitcher. Sometimes she steals a ball and runs with it, but that’s alright.
Tomorrow I’m planning on finding my mom’s rollerblades (my old ones are too small now) and taking those out for a spin. I’ve actually figure skated for as long as I’ve been able to walk, but I didn’t rollerblade at all until last summer. This feels so weird. I’m not normally that active of a person. With everything going on now, it just feels nice to go enjoy fresh air and everything.
The school said something about moving prom and graduation, but does anyone honestly believe that either of them are going to happen? This doesn’t look like it’s going to be over anytime soon. Not by May, not by June, maybe not even by July. It would be better if they just cancelled and let us move on.

We just got a memo from Missouri sports saying they won’t cancel everything until school is called off for the year. But yeah, I think you’re right.
